The 49ers have four quarterbacks on the roster — Trey Lance, Jimmy G, Purdy and Johnson.
You can argue they should have signed another one, but the obvious counterpoint is that if they reached the point where some off-the-street free agent was their only viable option then it probably didn't matter any more.

Agreed, it probably wouldn't matter. I'm thinking more like at least the street free agent knows how to throw a pass more than 10 yards.

Not going through the rest of this thread but finally getting a free moment. I'm grateful I had a family event today and didn't have to watch that. But what do you want when you get to the back up of the back up's back up. There's no shame I feel in losing to Philly but I wish it was a better effort.

Fly Eagles Fly in the Super Bowl. Great team and deserves to collect its second Lombardi. And here's to six months plus of 49er QB drama.
