Week 1 College Football Thread: Seven Years of College Station Down the Drain

Maybe LSU shouldn't play these any more. Not as brutal as the back-to-back pantsings by Florida State but still not a great look.

Five in a row now. Can't we fatten up on a cupcake for once?
<Checks schedule, sees a Week 1 home-and-home with Clemson the next two years, punches wall>

The issue for SC is bringing this effort against overmatched teams, and not playing down to their opponents.

Only difference now is those opponents will be teams like Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota instead of Stanford or Arizona State.

Bevel and Dayne aren't walking through that door?

I just checked, and USC doesn't play Iowa this year (Hawkeyes get UCLA instead, fortunately).

But the challenge still remains for the Trojans: besides the matchups with Michigan and Penn State, they need to bring it against the multitude of meh teams in the B1G.

The way Clemson is going, might not be that far off

Maybe. It looked like they were going thru the letters, either thru the L or U, like accents.

The air vents in modern helmets can make some designs look weird. Viewed from a certain angle, these WVU helmets make you think the eastern panhandle invaded Maryland.

The Vortex of Domination was 2-3 vs. P4 completion this week despite playing every game at home or at a neutral site.

Quality win for Georgia; any win by Vanderbilt is an accomplishment.

Horrible loss by Florida; bad loss by A&M; toss-up loss by LSU.

And it cleaned up against FCS and G5 opponents, no one was challenged except South Carolina, who probably should have lost to ODU.

I love college football but there are so many garbage games in Week 1.
