Running 2025 golf thread

That was insane. Dunk and the spin all the way around and in.
I don't know how that didn't pop out. You could see it spinning all the way around the hole for about the top half of the cup.

I feel terrible for any group that has to follow Tom Kim.
He is absolutely glacial in pace.
The Tour has a major pace of play problem right now.

Is Colt (don't know last name) a regular part of the CBS broadcast, or just for Waste Management?

He and Amanda are trying to have a "thing" going broadcasting from 16, and its pretty awkward.

I'm all for shock collars for slow play. On Tour and for any slowpokes in front of me.

It's out of control on Tour for sure. I like Tom Kim a lot, but yeah. Speed up. It's the skinny pedal on the right.

Gotta give LIV credit for trolling, after their first round they put up a tweet touting a 4:24 time for the round. And that includes their new halftime show!

And Colt Knost clapped back at LIV on today's broadcast.

"Around 24,000 circled around the coliseum here," said Knost. "That's 12,000 times two if my math is right."

Those comments might have sounded innocuous, if not a little weird, but they were actually a not-so-subtle dig at LIV's dismal ratings. It was reported Friday that LIV Golf's season-opening Riyadh tournament averaged 12,000 viewers for its opening-round telecast Thursday on FS2.

Not giving LIV any love here, but the golf media took outsized glee at that number while forgetting the fact that this was lunchtime Thursday on Fs2. Pretty sure 12,000 is more than whatever the heck else would have been in that slot. Easy for Colt to get sassy one week after a banger at Pebble and while he's sitting at WMPO, but wait 'til CBS gets back to calling the Rocket Mortgage Classics and 3M Opens.

There were more people at the Colorado high school football state championship games than that. There's no sugarcoating 12,000. That's a freakin' disaster for them. Oh well.

And Patrick Cantlay. Brian Harman. Bryson DeChambeau. Jason Day. Ben Crane. Glen Day. Bernhard Langer. There's always a poster boy.

And those latter two tournaments will still blow anything LIV has out of the water.

FS2 is on my cable system, but only in standard definition. That's how far down the totem pole it is. In 2022, it was in 59,100,000 homes. Not sure about now.
As for LIV, some out there are arguing people are watching on the LIV app, but everyone's got an app now. So? It's still only 12,000 people watching on American television on a Thursday morning and afternoon. I must be like Knost. I saw the number and said, "Twice that many are on the 16th in Scottsdale right now."
