Mentioned already in the weekly thread, but Texas A&M and Boise State kicking the season into high gear today. May the buyouts ever be in your favor.

Jimbo and his agent are smiling literally, all the way to the bank!

Does the Jimbo deal have a mitigation clause?
As to Boise State, they're whacking their guy less than a year after a 10-4 season.

Is Chip next on the buyout train?

This story, which appears to be a gamer, has a headline that suggests execution is in the works on an institutional level. The text of the story wonders if Kelly is on his way out, but it does nothing more than speculate.

No offsets, per ESPN.

According to the terms of the contract, Texas A&M will owe Fisher $19.2 million within 60 days and then pay him $7.2 annually through 2031. There is no offset or mitigation on those payments, and the annual payments start 120 days after termination.

Does Jimbo get another P4 gig?

Also, Penn State fired its OC one day after getting nine points against Michigan, which has a decent defense. Maybe he wasn't the guy who should've been canned.

I'm baffled as to why ATM gave Jimbo such an absurd deal. Not only the amount but the full, no-offset guarantee absent cause. Did he really deserve that great a contract? And now that they've done it for him, they've got to do it for the next guy. I suppose they have the donors to do it.

He was coming off a 9-1 Covid season, and LSU was looking at hiring him, so aTm locked him up. He got that ten year deal at $9m a season. He's recruited really well. Now they just need to hire a coach who can do something with the talent before they all portal back out.

I had forgotten the LSU pursuit. Pride cometh before the fall. They couldn't stand the thought of losing him to another SEC school.
