2025 NFL offseason thread

The more I think about it I'm just not buying Rodgers to the Steelers. They're better off with Wilson. Rodgers can go to the Giants and they can reach for Jaxson Dart to play behind him.

Would you rather the Steelers give Rodgers $90 million or Sam Darnold $100 million? Bottom line, after this run of Rudolph, Hodges, Trubisky, Pickett, Russell, and Fields, they're still going to need a long-term answer regardless of who they sign.
At those prices, Darnold. A $10m difference isn't really that significant. Darnold had an awful end of the season, but Rodgers looked cooked the whole year. If I have to choose at a similar price point, give me the 28-year-old guy in 2025 vs. the 42-year-old.

I wouldn't even think it's close.

At this point, go draft a rookie and throw him to the wolves.

Darnold s not getting a 100 million. It's basically 55 over 2 years.

They really aren't better off with Wilson. If he isn't hitting moon balls, he is terrible. One reason they fell apart was teams started taking that away late in the season. At least Rodgers will throw to the middle of the field.

Then again, maybe the Steelers won't get any of the viable starters. Last season, Omar Khan kept shopping around for the perfect deal for a receiver. He ended up with nothing. Well, it was Van Jefferson, but he got them next to nothing and the lack of a second receiver crippled the offense all season.

He is trying to play the bargain game at running back, pashing on Najee Harris's very affordable fifth-year option. They put a second-round tender on Jaylen Warren, but they need another back to share the load and Gainwell ain't it. Dowdle was an affordable option to pair with Warren, but he's gone now, too.

Even worse, he has left himself beholden to Aaron Rodgers. They putzed around too long with Justin Fields and refused to open up the wallet to pay Darnold. Now Wilson may be gone, too. Rodgers could deck around for weeks and now there is talk of the Vikings getting involved. He's going to squeeze big money from one of these teams and wait long enough to completely screw the others.

The Steelers spent a second-round pick and $150 for Metcalf and they might have Joe Flacco or Mason Rudolph throwing him the ball.
