Choke on it, AirTran!

Re: Stay away, AirTran

Well, don't get too excited. Northwest Airlines might be one of the prospective investors.

Buzz kill.
I don't live in the Midwest any more, but damn, that was a nice airline. If only our local line was as nice.... sigh...

NWA couldn't have more than a small interest in the deal, otherwise there'd be major anti-trust issues to deal with.

And besides, many of my frequent-flier miles are on NWA. Throw my Midwest ones onto those and now we're talking!

Re: Stay away, AirTran

I have never understood why anyone who has the chance to fly Southwest, doesn't just fly with them. They are the best airline I have ever dealt with, plus they have bad-ass rewards*.

* - denotes: I just got four free drink coupons in the mail for no apparent reason other than I fly Southwest every time I fly anywhere.

Re: Stay away, AirTran

An investors group led by TPG Capital is buying Midwest at $16/share to take it private ... Northwest is among the investors.

http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=645803

A representative of the investors group said on the radio this morning that Midwest will remain the same -- in name and in service -- and their intent is to continue its growth. Also said they should have no problems in regards to anti-trust with Northwest and Midwest's corporate home would remain in the Milwaukee area.

So for now, I'm happy ... it's better than the alternative.

Choke on 'em, ValuJet AirTran!

So, I'm wondering where this thread was last week, before I purchased AirTran tickets for a flight from here to Raleigh/Durham with a connection in Atlanta.

I thought the Atlanta connection was the worst part. Now I'm thinking AirTran may be the worst part.

Ah yes, another satisfied Air Tran customer. You know Air Tran is the former ValuJet?

So what happened, BBAM?
