College football bowl thread: Pop-Tarts Muzik

@BTExpress @dixiehack

I knew a guy* who to his dying day despised John Ward because - by his telling - he had all but reached an agreement to be the Voice of the Vols and Ward somehow back doored him at the 11th hour. He was a very prominent radio guy at the time. I don't know if it's true or not, but in his version of the story that's what happened.

*I won't give his name because I promise you that you'd recognize the family name ashociated with broadcasting.

Kesling was unfairly criticized for the reason you cited, though having craptastic teams --- especially football --- for much of his time there meant he was speaking to an already angry contingent of fans.

Was better at basketball than football. Would be fine with me if Bertlekamp hit the road.
The Florida humidity must have warped you. Kesling makes an error on every play. Every. Play! He was terrible on football (I don't listen to him on hoops)

I had to look it up. Ward started calling football in 1968, three years after starting with basketball. I just ashumed they handed him the mic the day after Noah docked the ark.

Another thing about Mike Keith moving east is he will be reunited with Pat Ryan, who was his first color analyst with the Titans.

Also, I am old enough to remember Bob Kesling as the sports anchor on WBIR in the 80s. I'd have sworn he was in his mid 40s then, which means I overshot it by a good 15-plus years.

Supposedly Beck is going to Miami. He just had TJ surgery in January. No way can he be ready by September, right? never heard of a pitcher coming back in nine months.
Which begs 2 questions: 1) Did John Ruiz commit to paying him for two years? 2) What is the status of the SEC's (no, not that one) investigation into LifeWallet? Only 4 months ago, the company wrote in a preliminary report that there was a decent chance it doesn't have long to survive.

LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy is wanted on charges of negligent homicide and felony hit-and-run following a December traffic crash that killed one person and injured two others.
Lacy was LSU's top receiver this season and has declared for the NFL draft.

Another story noted he declared for the NFL draft two days after the wreck.

He went to Miami because he's dating a Cavinder twin
