College football week 9 thread: The Midshipmen Who Stare at Goats

Watching some of the Colorado-Cincy game this AM, I have to give credit to some of the coaching changes Deion made. Phil Loadholt has made that offensive line better and adding Sapp to the staff as a grad ashistant/quality control guy has been very good for their defensive line.

Don't have to like it, but Colorado is definitely a top 35-ish+ team this season. 10-2 in definitely on the table.

Duke had approximately 206 chances to win the game.

Poor kicker hooked a point-after attempt, another field-goal attempt and had one blocked (that I'll have to watch on DVR, but until I see it again, the guess is that the kick had nowhere near enough height, which made blocking it much easier).

SMU had six turnovers, and Duke none. Yet the Ponies won. Blue Devils much better than anyone expected at 6-2, but the gamble that SMU's oil boosters by paying their athletic bills and foregoing millions in revenue sharing in the league – just to get in a power conference again – paying off so far with a 7-1 start.
Defender made a great play on the block. He hopped over a Duke lineman and got right in front of the kick. It never had a chance.

Using standard math, I'm seeing there's a 5.70% chance that SMU, Clemson and Miami all finish regular-season league play at 8-0.
It seems far more probable than that. In all 11 games, the favorite has an ESPN-measured win probability of ≥ 60%. But getting them all to hit -- as any parlay gambler can probably attest -- is the complicated and unlikely part.

I think you can do that if you're on the edge or maybe if you're not leaping over the center or with the help of a teammate.
From my quick and dirty review just now, you either have to be stationary at the snap or already lined up within a yard of the LOS. And I'm guessing leaping over the long snapper gets you a flag regardless of the letter of the law.

Lauren Cantrell returns, without the exaggerated southern accent.

A death match between Hope and Battered Aggie Syndrome could be forthcoming.

Two weeks in a row.

I know d_bs are inevitable here, but how do you d_b directly below the original post hours after the original was posted, with plenty of time to have seen it?

EDIT: I think I know how. And I'll just leave it at that.
