Colonoscopy ... give me good vibes

For me, the first round was all about the violent fury.

The second round felt like it was getting the remaining remnants cleaned out from the nooks and crannies. Less violent and very much a cleansing feeling.

But I know your experience may vary.

From the good timing department comes this video posted today by Penn Holderness (he and his wife became famous during the pandemic for their parody songs...then they went and won The Amazing Race). He had a colonoscopy this week and they put together a video of him downing and enduring the prep (no bathroom footage, thankfully) before his wife drove him to the hospital. Stick around for how he's captured as he wakes up.

For me, I've never had one.
And if bad results at this age, oh what the hell ...

So I'm very glad cancer doesn't run in my family, if that's a thing.

Home after a cheeseburger and fries. Everything went smoothly. One polyp and the recommendation is I likely don't need to go back for 7 or maybe 10 years.

A calm doc, great nurses and a great nap.

Tough two days, but this piece of mind is a godsend. Very grateful.

Best news of the day! Happy you got it done and you are good to go for a long time. Getting the 7-10 all clear is as good as it gets here. Enjoy all the food you want tonight and the naps that'll follow!

I am late to the party; I had my second one a couple of months ago. Boy, the prep has greatly improved from 8 yrs ago. Back then, I had to down I think 2 gallons of water + solution in 24 hours. Let me tell you that was no fun (neither was the flushing out of said solution/water). This time, I'd say the liquid was about 25% of what was before.

However, after the prep? Body felt like it just got detailed from the inside out, a wonderful feeling.

And after the procedure? There is no substitute for the peace of mind. Knowledge is undefeated; much better to know than not know. Get it done everyone.

I've got the pills for my prep. That at least eliminates the bad taste. And from what I've heard, they achieve the same necessary result.
