Colonoscopy ... give me good vibes

Tastes like a bag of chopped lemon-lime ashholes

18 years later, 6/15/06, a close reference to Moddy's post ...

When this thread first started, my son the Braves fan said, "Tell your SJ friends to eat a box of chopped ashholes or vats of dong or whatever you guys say on that board."

Today, he said, "Tell your boys they were right. My team now sucks as bad as yours."

Well, not yet. But they're getting there.

So, how did it go?
Surprisingly easy. 17 trips to the toilet (yes, I tracked them) but Preparation H wipes did wonders to prevent PCL's aforementioned problems.
2'polyps, sent off for inspection, but otherwise all good. Have to go back in 5 years cause my pops was diagnosed with colon cancer shortly before he died.
You younguns should take note: apparently if you have a close relative who had colon cancer you should have a colonoscopy after you turn 40.
This thread helped me tremendously.

Yes. My mom had it at 49 and the recommendation to us kids was to go at an age 10 years before that so my first one was at 39.

Get my first one tomorrow at 1, so mired now in what I hope is nearing the end of stage one of the prep. Trips are, uh, less frequent for the time being.

Did well with Gatorade, jello and broth throughout the day of fasting. Seems most everyone I've read in this thread this evening, I guess, has had the same worries and fright that I'm feeling right now, but I'll just have to tackle whatever's next, if there is something next. Glad I'm going to have an answer and that I'm doing this.

Had a wonderful trip to NYC over the weekend to see the senior college student, who bought her cap and gown last week as she and her clash prepped for their second-to-last college show. Back in May for their showcase and graduation.

Life goes too goddamn fast.

(Up early in the morning to finish. Is the second round of the prep similar in reaction as the first?)

The effects of the prep will, err, kick in later. My preps have never required anything after midnight, which I've liked b/c by midnight I'm more than happy to be done drinking 64 ounces of lemon lime Gatorade mixed with the prep. Also, don't be stunned if 1 turns into 2 or later and make sure your ride to and (especially) from is aware the window may get pushed back...that was my case last time. I was OK with it b/c I was being seen by one of the best doctors in my area and I was told she was running a little behind. Still, after more than 24 hours of fasting and shipping, I was ready for it to be done. Good luck!
