Shut up. I'm not doing it myself.
Easy procedure.
Getting a knee scoped, a meniscus shaved (heh heh) and some "floaters" cleaned out. The arthritis……I get to keep.
Thanks Doc.
Surgery on a Thursday….crutches for 3-4 days. Doc wants to see me 5 days after. Week vacation after that.
Any advice or must catches on any streaming platforms that you can buy, rent or steal from?

Are they not going to want you in PT as soon as able? Seems unusual to delay that.

Been knocked out three times in the last six months for various procedures. Enjoy the propofol. Best sleep you'll have all year.

If your surgery is next Thursday (3/14), not only will it be S & a BJ Day, but you can kick back and watch college basketball tournament games until Sunday while you recover.

I've only had one surgery (not counting colonoscopies) and it'll never amaze me how immediate and potent the propofol is. I was slated for surgery first thing in the morning and got wheeled in right on time. They did the whole making sure they had the right patient thing, told me they were going to administer the good stuff and I got a prayer in to my late Mom. Next thing I knew I was in recovery HOURS later. Turns out they decided not to operate on me first but never told my wife, who was freaking out along with my out-of-state Dad when the window for my surgery came and went with nary an update. I never knew any of this, of course.

Years ago, I had shoulder surgery. Before the surgery, they gave me some "giggle juice" that tasted like a fine wine. It made me so high that when my stretcher was being wheeled around, I was literally waving at everyone like I was in a parade. I kept asking for more of the "giggle juice" and wanted to take some home.

The anesthesiologist did a nerve block on me, and I was so high, I was asking him to put on a
Doors CD. They wheeled me into the operating same, said "Good morning" to me and that was the last thing I heard before waking up in recovery and farting in the face of this poor, kind nurse.

Surgeries: A scorecard. Left knee 1, a meniscus tear. Left wrist 2 (one to insert a pin in a fractured wrist, one to remove said pin.) Eyes: 4, cataracts removed in both eyes, detached retina reattachment (try to avoid this if possible), follow up abrasion of said retina to remove scar tissue. Of all of them, the detached retina was the scariest because the drugs leave you unable to feel anything, but also conscious. So I could hear my (wonderful) eye surgeon cursing out an equipment failure during the procedure. Chef, your knee surgery sounds as if you'll be ready for the golf course by April.

How did the meniscus tear surgery go? Wife took a fall on the ice at work a few weeks back and has a torn meniscus, plus a partial tear in her PCL. They said the PCL can be fixed with a brace/PT, but the meniscus has to be surgically repaired.

She's freaking out a bit, though being distracted by the worker's comp headaches of it all.

I'll send you all 10 episodes of Horace & Pete's if you want. Required viewing.

Does your wife play left wing or defense?

Good list. I have a couple of additions

Reacher (Amazon)
Daredevil: Born Again (Disney+)

I am a little behind on Reacher, but the first two seasons were strong.
The first two episodes of Daredevil just dropped Tuesday, but they are excellent, a worthy continuation of the excellent Netflix series.
