The DC5 had a great "Wall of Sound" style, with Denny Payton's sax and Mike Smith on the organ. Totally different than the guitar-driven bands. Plus Manchester-based, rather than Liverpool or London.
I was a huge DC5 fan, when everyone else loved the Beatles.
