Major bridge collapse in Baltimore

Capt. Ted Davisson should have been Capt. Sully before Capt. Sully happened. On the other hand, I don't think anyone was injured at all in the Miracle on the Hudson.

IIRC, he got a heck of a lot of awards and attaboys from the river pilots' association in Louisiana after that.
Also IIRC, the very first reports blamed him for crashing the freighter before it was revealed a few days later that he'd probably saved hundreds of lives.

The Port of South Louisiana for years was the largest U S. port by tonnage from bulk shipments such as grain and not containers. It's currently No. 2.

You land a full airplane on the Hudson River right when local TV stations and newspapers are doing their afternoon budget meetings - THAT is how you get to be Capt. Sully. Imagine if it happened at night when newsrooms are past deadline, and there is only a skeleton crew. No footage, no Sully, No movie directed by Eastwood and starring Tom Hanks.

And no illuminated video.

Curious to see how long it will take for shipping at the port to get back to normal. Wondering if our resident expert on these things will chime in.
