Most underrated albums

I never understood the hate for The Final Cut (and there is a lot of it). It's one of my favourite Floyd albums. I think mostly people got tired of Roger Waters writing about his dad. Absent the dilutive effects of the rest of the Floyd catalogue, it's terrific.

I won an auction for a 'lot' of albums, including most of the Floyd catalog. I have all of it on various forms of media, but I want to complete album collection.

The copy of DSOTM I bought used as a kid because I couldn't afford new is beat to heck, and I have other cleaner copies, but that one will ride with me to the end. Man, I wrote my last name on it, can't sell it!

I also have the Godzilla model I made as a kid in my workshop.

"5 Neat Guys' Greatest Hits" is legendary in Canada. Still available on eight-track.

I have a NEAT turntable, I kid you not. Rather well-respected among the idler drives.

Three that I still play regularly:

Van Morrison's "Wavelength", 1978, is a classic that nobody I know has even heard let alone like/dislike. Really good songs, fine guitar work and production. "Natalia" is a personal fave but the whole album is first rate.

"On the Border" is like a slightly lesser greatest hits album for the Eagles. Not a remotely weak song on the album. I dig the title song personally and have not heard it on any FM station since the70s. Too bad, it's a great tune.

Don't know if "Can't Buy a Thrill" can be considered underrated considering how many people have owned it. It's underrated to me in the big view of popular rock music. heck, I hear "Do It Again", the opening cut, and "Reelin' in the Years" every day on the radio 45 years after the album release! I'll let the critics have one weak song but no more. They are all the creations of the Fagan/Becker genius. I'm partial to "Only a Fool Would Say That" for the beat and guitar.
I would rate it as one of the most important rock albums ever recorded. It doesn't have any direct comparison that I can think of which is one reason it's special.

My favorite Eagles album. Good mix of rockers and mellow tracks, no clunkers.

Once in a while you will hear "James Dean" on the radio; not only a great vocal by Glenn Frey, but smokin' lead guitar by Bernie Leadon (!).

Boss fans will jump on me but "The Wild, the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle" blows "Born to Run" or anything else he's made since then away.
