Nash's performance last night shows why his two MVP awards handed to him by writers in their anti-NBA players but Steve plays the right way stance should be questioned.

Of course it should, because, as everybody knows, last night's performance happened in the 2005 and 206 seasons.

So I guess you could say Shaq doesn't deserve his MVP either because he's a shadow of his former self. Oh and, after last night, Manu shouldn't be sixth man of the year.

Steve Nash was the same old one dimensional liability left standing at the altar by the Spurs in both the 2005 and 2006 seasons.

He was the most overrated MVP I've seen in years and was handed a "feelgood" trophy.

Oh well...maybe Chris Paul can now be handed the "he makes his teammates better" mantra to help propel him to some MVP's.

Oh wait....that mantra expired last year.

In 2005 and 2006, Nash was playing point guard better than anybody on the planet. Was his defense a horrid liability? Yes, it was and is. Is that enough to eliminate him from the MVP discussion? I dunno.

But I don't think one can easily dismiss how well Nash played during those two seasons.

He was playing the best PG on this planet yet found himself in the same shoes as Stephon Marbury a few years ago when losing to the Spurs.

I thought he was a big improvement?

Please. maybe NOW the MVP award can go to players who exhibit more than one sided skills. It seems that the bar has been raised again back to its proper height.

Think that the Nets enjoyed Chris Paul's owning of JKidd?

I loved it.

How about Byron Scott being presented the coach of the year award in Kidd's face?

I love it!!!

Once. Just once.

That's how many times I'd like to see the following things NOT happen with the San Antonio Spurs:

--Tim Duncan bitching about every foul call against him. We get it, Tim. You have never committed a foul in your life.
--Tim Duncan bitching every time he misses a shot. We get it, Tim. You're too good to miss unless you were hacked.
--Manu Ginobli flailing and falling to the floor every time someone (gasp) breathes his direction. We get it, Manu. You wish you were an actor.
--Kurt Thomas falling down every time he sets a screen. We get it, Kurt. The Suns are an NFL team.

My hatred for everything related to the San Antonio Spurs is extremely high right now. I understand that the Spurs are a damn good team and I'm not arguing anything to the contrary. But they are, without a doubt, the whiniest, bitchiest, pussiest team on the face of the Earth.

One time I want to see a game in which every player on San Antonio decides not to bench about every call that doesn't go his way.

Hold everything.

Point, set, match.
There's a big gap right there ... the Spurs may whine and cry some, but they don't normally have meltdowns -- scratch that -- never have any meltdowns.
The Pistons on the other hand, good god -- I'm a native Michigander and lifelong fan and I'm the first to admit that the attitude on that group is ridiculous.

Exactly why I don't want to see the Spurs-Pistons (or Spurs-anyone or Pistons-anyone) in the Finals.

The Spurs bench a lot. They don't have meltdowns because they do it in their nice little, "Oh, not me, I play for San Antonio" attitude. Like Tony Parker flashing his puppy dog eyes at the refs, or Tim Duncan putting his arm around them and pleading his case.

And no team -- not one at all -- has a bigger bunch of floppers than San Antonio. You can't breathe Ginobli's way. Pin Duncan against the baseline? He'll just trip over himself and draw a foul from you.

Like I said, the Spurs are good. I'm not arguing that. They annoy the heck out of me though.

EDIT: And just for the record, I am not and never have been a Suns fan.

Tough rocks kiddo, the Spurs are still the best team in the NBA come playoff time -- until proven otherwise -- live with it.

Say goodnight Avery.

surprised they waited this long.

I'm not, and as with the trade for Kidd, I'm not sure this is the right move for the Mavs. They could get a lot worse next season, and in the West, that could mean missing the playoffs.
