2024 NBA offseason thread

Per Shams:

Wolves dealing KAT to the Knicks for Randle, DiVincenzo and the Pistons' first round pick next year.

Not the most NBA conversant, but at a glance, Randle has about a $20M smaller cap hit and has a player option after this season (Towns is longer term), probably doesn't conflict as much with Rudy, and the Pistons suck, so this is a lottery pick.

Sweet Jesus. There is not a single player in the league who is less suited to playing for the Knicks than KAT.

I suspect this will not end well.

Care to elaborate?
Going after a big name and the results won't be there.

They got regular season better but once April hits it's not going to produce results when it matters. He already has two fouls going into the first round of the playoffs.

They needed to get rid of Randle, though, su there's that.

I just saw that the first rounder the Knicks are trading is the Pistons' pick.

Insert the "baby, what is you doing?" meme here. How do you trade a Pistons first rounder? That'll be a top 3 pick.

The Pistons' first round pick included in the Knicks-Wolves trade is: Top 13 protected in 2025 Top 11 protected in 2026 Top 9 protected in 2027 If it doesn't convey in those 3 years, it becomes a 2nd round pick
