NFL Week 13 -- What About Love?

There used to be a few memorable plays each season. That is, a play non-fans would talk about, usually from the post-season when viewing is highest. The Dwight Clark catch, the Tyree catch, Bo Jackson running over Brian Bosworth. The last one of those was the Beast Mode run and that was 13 years ago, and even that was in a lesser-seen West Coast game. Maybe Beckham's one-handed catch and that was eight years ago.

Like the NBA, the NFL has become a video game in real life, and about as compelling.

There have been a couple of catches every bit as good as Beckham's this season.

Just admit you have no clue about the current game if that is your take. Just unbelievably ignorant.

No one likes coaches but what if the coordinators have become that much more advanced over the past decade? Many seem to have an answer for every new wrinkle that emerges in the NFL. Give them a few weeks and they'll solve whatever the new fad is.

That's the only answer I've really got. We have so many QB camps now so players can learn at a younger age. HS quarterbacks have never been better but, as the coaches get sharper and keep evolving, maybe that really reveals itself at the NFL level.
The growth in offense is related to changes in rules for coverage going back 20 years and maybe the changes in hitting.

What has changed this year to help defense? Getting better at RPO defense?

I think a lot of it is just adjusting to what they've been seeing from offenses in recent years.

I know defenses aren't falling for Andy Reid's gadgets and gimmicks this year. KC used to live on stuff like that little inside shovel pass near the goal line and the jet sweep on third-and-1 or 2. Not anymore.

Beast Mode was against the Saints in a wild card playoff game, IIRC.

Also doesn't help that Kansas City is operating with basically zero adult receivers.

Oh… fork the Philly head of security.

Some random says "bullshirt" in a player's face, I wish Greenlaw would have split his nose in half.

And if a black head of security gets in TJ Watt's face, don't tell me this gets the same treatment from Teddy Six Pack at home.
