NFL Week 2 running thread ...

The Browns have a legit shot at 0-16 if they can get past the Raiders in a couple weeks. today, down 17-3 in the third quarter, they had fourth-and-1 at the Cincy 40 and PUNTED. The punt, naturally, resulted in a touchback and a 20-yard net. With coaching like that, it almost looks like they want to lose. Who are the big names coming out in the draft next year?

(Side note: Idiot Ohio State fans are already planning on Troy Smith starting for the Browns next year, completely ignoring the fact that he's 5-foot-10 with an average arm and average speed; But HEY, he plays for the Buckeyes!)

The Browns could beat the Lions.

Called my friend earlier, a Browns fan, and reassured him that Brady Quinn is on the way. His reponse: "fork that. I want Troy Smith. He's taking the Buckeyes to the title, you know." ::)

I really need to get DirecTV... I've been stuck watching Raiders-Ravens. I use the term "watching" very loosely.

The announcers have really been fellating Andrew Walter... and then the graphic comes up and points out his 28.2 quarterback rating today.

The Browns are the worst team in football. What a debacle today. But QB isn't the problem. I'm a big Charlie Frye fan. Draft some linemen that can forking block for a change. The offense's biggest problem is Maurice Carthon, who has done a rat shirt job of calling plays this year.

And the Vikes win on an OT field goal.

Wins over the Redskins and Panthers. That's a damn good start.

Are they a contender in the North, or are the Bears -- particularly with their early-season offense -- just too tough?
