This day sucks.
Whatever happens, we deserve all of it.
3. Newsrooms no longer have TVs. Everyone watches everything on their phone.I doubt a newsroom would gather around, at this point, any Republican being inaugurated.
1. Most journalists work very remotely now
2. A Republican winning any office is a day mourning in most newsrooms larger than, I dunno, 4.
I'm not watching the coronation, but the timing of this thread — slightly before the official change of power — reminds me of the Biden inauguration. Roberts administered the oath 10 minutes early, at 11:50 am. So Biden says, "So help me God," and starts his speech. According to the Constitution, power doesn't change until noon.
I never heard anyone on tv mention this. Always wondered if there was a conscious decision to do the oath early. And if so, why?
