President Trump 2.0: The NEW one and only politics thread

The "liberal media" card no longer applies. This is a load of bullship.

Is it? I'd be willing to bet nearly every newspaper newsroom above a certain size in America presents as medium-to-hard left, lest any Republican in that room lose friendships/respect/ashignments. Forget Trump; Mike Johnson may as well be Voldemort.

Now, that may change over the 5-10 years, but journalism, like the English department at most universities, will be the final holdout.

No new tariffs. Lots of symbolic stuff, especially on immigration. And lots of the immigration orders - like with birthright citizenship - that will get struck down by the courts.

So basically, except for the low-lying fruit, he's going to yap and yap and not do very much.
It's like watching a cable channel dedicated to rerunning "clashic" TV, in other words.

Yes. It's a steaming pile of bullship. Get up-to-date, accurate talking points.

Publishers, who dictate editorial policy, are 85% GOP.

New thread, same gimmick.

I doubt a newsroom would gather around, at this point, any Republican being inaugurated.

1. Most journalists work very remotely now

2. A Republican winning any office is a day mourning in most newsrooms larger than, I dunno, 4.
1) There are no newsrooms. Corporate greed killed them.
2) True.
3) This is because the Trumpist klan is a threat to democracy, decency and anything in the Constitution that it decides to dislike.
JV Vance, the VP, has endorsed and written the preamble to a book that says everybody who isn't of a particular Christian worldview is an "unhuman" who must be eradicated.
Furthermore, the political leanings of the rank and file are irrelevant. The rich and powerful of the media ownership establishment control the actual impact that outlets can have. And they have decided that they won't pursue truth or express opinion if such actions might disturb the lord and savior.
