President Trump 2.0: The NEW one and only politics thread

We've had this conversation before. Set by federal law (2 U.S. Code § 7) as the Tuesday after the first Monday in November. No exceptions.
I sincerely - most sincerely - hope that I'm wrong. Being wrong is what I do.
But I seem to recall Germany was a democracy and had laws before Hitler took over as a dictator.
I guess we'll see if history does or doesn't repeat itself.

Remember when Trump had officials open the dams, "the giant faucet" to send more water downstream so that California would get more water, but the water actually went down the Columbia River and into the Pacific because it does not connect to Cali? This clip is in relation to that. The U.S. and Canada have a treaty regarding the Columbia, which flows down from Canada, relating to the amount of flow allowed, flood control, hydroelectric power, etc. The treaty is up for renewal. Biden had basically negotiated an extension but it has not yet been approved, so now that agreement will be subject to Trump's heralded negotiating skills.

If he negotiates with his usual combination of tactlessness combined with extortion, Canada could cut the flow tremendously. They could open the dams and send a lot downstream all at once. Who knows? In any case, this is likely of interest to any of our Pacific Northwest members.

It's not funny. You take away the social security I've been paying into for 30 years, either give me my forking money or I quit paying taxes altogether. Pretty simple. Come to my door, and I exercise my second amendment rights. You want a fight you MAGA cunts? Let's forking go.
Sounds great. But the reality for most Americans is that taxes are taken out of their paycheck by law, and they can't do a damn thing about it. The majority are due a refund, so they have to file just to get their overpayment back.

And most on Social Security are paying meager taxes --- which again comes out of the check you suddenly aren't getting.

As someone who just turned 64, it's --- to use Susan Collins' favorite phrase --- concerning.
