Rolling Stone ranks Top 250 guitarists of all time

Robert Cray ranked behind Nils Lofgren and Robert Fripp behind Mick Taylor? GTFO

Richard Thompson ranked behind.....John Mayer!?!?!? GTFOOOOO

Mick Jones (of the Clash) didn't make the list?

Was going to be upset if Nels Cline wasn't on here somewhere. 115 is probably about right.

Something Gill once said reminds me of the pointlessness of a list like this. "When you live in Nashville, you have to remember that the kid parking your car can play you under the table"

Obviously an exaggeration, but worth considering.
Well, you know there are 1,352 guitar pickers in Nashville, and they can pick more notes than the number of ants on a Tennessee anthill.

There's also 1,352 guitar cases in Nashville, and anyone who unpacks his guitar can play twice as better than I will.

Prince outside the top 10 and Mark Knopfler can't even crack the top 50? Jann Wenner can fork right off.

Yeah, I don't think Jann Wenner had much more to do with this list than I did.

For that matter, I know quite a bit about R&R, and I bet I've literally never heard of 100 of these 250 people. That doesn't mean they're not great musicians, I'm sure they are. But can the things they do be even remotely described as "rock guitar" playing?
