Running RIP thread for musicians who died in 2022

Saw Ronnie Hawkins play at the Sioux Lookout Memorial Arena in the mid 80s during the Blueberry Festival. We were there for a fastball tournament. That's all I remember other than there was liquor served.

Saw Ronnie Hawkins at the Cave in Vancouver in November or so, 1980 as I was there for a company party with a contingent from Calgary. He guested with the band who was playing and did 2 sets. Rockin' pneumonia; he did a 10 minute, it seemed, version of "Who Do You Love?". A friend at the firm and I took a couple of female co workers to the Club not knowing too much about it except it's reputation. Everyone in the place was really into the music and it was a wild time. Who could know the well endowed gal I was with had a crush on me? She stayed in my room until late the next afternoon when we had to get ready for the big dinner and party at the Terminal City Club the next day. She liked Vancouver so much she moved there a year later.
I credit Ronnie Hawkins with an assist.

Very late and off topic, but I miss how fastball was a going concern in Canada in the 80s. In my small town it was a huge deal, and then it seemed to get wiped out.

Interesting! I posted an article in the mlb thread, so this won't get derailed. Only from 2009, where it hadn't yet faded in Canada. Also, didn't know she played. lol (have to read the article for my lame joke)
