Running video games (and consoles) thread

UFC is pretty amazing. I rarely follow the UFC at all, I may stop for a minute or two on Spike when its on, but I am hooked deep on this game.

How does the control mechanism work? Can you actually get submissions fairly simply or is it "A, left trigger, move joystick right, right trigger, A, A" type stuff?

I am waiting for Fight Night, I love the series. I can't get into a UFC game, just doesn't interest me.

For the 360 it's: Push down the right stick then either whip the right stick in circles or mash the ABXY buttons.

OK. Love me some GTA IV. Decided to go around killing all the pigeons before continuing with the storyline. But quick rant. These needy forking clingy friends of Niko won't stop calling. And I like the benefits of having Dwayne and Lil Jacob up at a high level. But seriously, it's like if you don't do a mission for a while in this one, these friends call non-stop. I keep losing friend points because i won't do stuff with them. But this pigeon thing takes long enough as it is without having to stop every five birds to take forking Roman bowling.

Sorry, rant over.

I know what you mean, Cosmo.

I haven't gone after the pigeons yet. If you're going for the Liberty City Minute achievement (where you finish the story line in 30 hours of game play time), you won't make it.

But I'm already over the 30 hours and I'm like only half way done, partly because I have done some of the side missions too.
The one friend that is real nice to have is Kate (at least I think that's her name. It's the one you meet in Algonquin, that can eliminate your wanted level with one call to her).

Edit: Oops, just remembered you have a PS3, so there's no achievements for you (at least I don't think there isn't).

The friends thing is ridiculous. I never knew that you get benefits from Dwayne. The first time I played through the storyline I pretty much ignored him, second time I killed him just for a difference.

IF I play the storyline one more time through I am going to try and get 100 percent and do all the stuff I need. Although the stunt jumps are hard to find.

shirt, I gave up on completing GTA IV. I needed a walkthrough to find some of the stunt jumps, let alone the pigeons.

BTW, I got UFC. It's pretty good, if you like fighting sims. But the menu controls are awkward. You go in and put a logo on a fighter's shorts (which you have to do when you get sponsored in career mode) and then you have to hit the O button like six times to get back to the main career menu.

If I can ever unscrew my financial situation I'm going to get Ghostbusters for the PS3. I'm also intrigued about Fight Night 4. I've heard so many good things about this already.

Still playing Infamous though. And I'm loving it. Trying to unlock all the trophies right now but some of the stunts you have to do are insanely difficult!

PS3 got a trophy patch, you can get all the achievements that the XBox can.

Still waiting on Operation: Anchorage though, damn it hurry up Bethesda you said late June but it's July already!

I know I'm late to this and all, but I was late to getting a PS3 ... finished GTA IV. Saved at the "One Last Thing" mission so I could go through and explore both choices for how the game ended. At about 91 percent ... really want to get to 100 but I think I need to put the damn thing away for a little bit and come back to it later. Really loved the two endings, and the whole choose-your-own-adventure feel Rockstar gave you with Niko as the game went along. I would say I definitely got my money's worth out of the game.
