What should I be buying in the Steam Summer Sale?

I bought Civ5, which is pretty sweet if you like that type of simulation / civilization management game at all. With Steam, the star ratings for games are pretty accurate, at least according to my buddies who use it a lot more than I do.

Is there any way to sort by rating? If there is, I'm not noticing it.

I LOVE Civ 5. I have a bit of a crippling addiction to that game.

Hm, I'm not sure. I'm actually on a back-up computer right now while my other one gets the fan fixed, and the system specs are too low to really run Steam effectively. I think if you click on the game itself, it has a star rating, but I'm not sure if you can sort by that parameter. My friends really like Trine 2, Far Cry 3 and Civ5, which are all widely different games.

OK, since the XBOX league started, I know that Jelly and I are in for the PS3 version.

I think sgreenwell is too, but I want to make sure.

Do you guys just want to pick a sub 80 team or would you like to do a conference like the MAC or Sun Belt where the teams aren't above 80?

If we go Sun Belt, I call dibs on Western Kentucky.

If not, I say we do like the XBox league an go teams 85 and below, unless it'll make things easier for us to be in the same conference.

Any other PS3 guys out there want to join up?

I kinda like doing conferences because scheduling is already worked in.

And it makes you work to have to recruit.

I did a MAC one not too long ago and it was so much fun.

I'd be down to join a PS3 league if someone gets it started. I'm down for any format, but doing it by conference does sound fun.

Sale just ended like 2 minutes ago. I just bought Retro City Rampage, Saints Row III, Chivalry, Torchlight and Terraria.

Torchlight is good fun, if you like Diablo-like games. It's basically a streamlined, faster-playing version of Diablo. I've heard really good things about Retro City Rampage but never taken the plunge - You given it a spin yet?

Should someone make a separate thread for the PS3 dynasty league? Maybe we'd get another interested person or two that way. That being said, if there are just four of us, I think a conference makes more sense than not, since it means we'd play the other three people in the league.

Any chance a PS3 league could wait a few days? I can buy it Friday after I get paid.

We were hoping more folks would sign up. I'll talk to Tommy D, but I don't see any reason why we can't wait.

Um ... found some bugs in NCAA 14 ... within the same game, I've had:

* My quarterback throw a pass to the end zone, where it was intercepted. The CPU then credited the opponent with a 108-yard TD return even though the DB had stepped out of the back of the end zone.

At least the CPU gave it back, though, on this wacky play.

* Intercepted a ball at the my own 4 yard line as time wound down, yet the game gave me the ball at the opponent's 4, where I scored a TD on the next play.

???
