Shingles is a fork-around-and-find-out if there ever was one.
I noticed two spots on me (ribs and back) and wife and I thought I might be getting Shingles. They were sore and uncomfortable to the touch. When I say touch, I mean clothing just lightly grazing it. I went to the doc and they gave me something that would halt Shingles, but not heal it. So, I had 2-3 weeks of annoying discomfort.
My mother had it so bad that she hurt when she was sitting still. She was miserable for over a month. Like, if she wasn't retired, she would not have been able to work. She couldn't sleep.
So, if you want to roll the dice? Go for it.
I've done both rounds because it can come back.
Fun fact, I have not come across a kid with chicken pox for two decades. If a kid does get it, that's the anti-vax family.
