The Soccer Thread (Version 15) — I Got 115 Problems But a Pep Ain’t One

Still ridiculous not to have normal timekeeping. This isn't 1983. Americans have seen a soccer match by now.

Yeah, I'm not exactly up to speed on college soccer but it was strange for the clock to count down and trying to figure out when they stop the clock and when they keep it running. I still don't know.

As someone who has played competitive darts, I can't express how hard it is to hit a ton 80, even once. I think I've done it twice in my life. You get the first two, and it goes right to your head and you get super nervous. I've had a lot of 121s and 126s.

Also, lots of Waldos in that crowd.

I played, too, for 14 years from 1976-1990 (darts kept me off the streets and in bars where I belong). You are right about hitting those ton-80s. I threw maybe eight and the first one gave you an unbelievable feeling because you probably got close a bunch of times before getting it.
On my FB REELS feed, I get lots of darts clips and Paul Lim is starting to show up, being competitive internationally at age 70. I played against him back in the day. One night, he came running into our bar, coming directly from the airport after a 17-hour flight from the Philippines. No warmups, he threw a ton-80 on his first turn. I threw three ton-40s in a row and never got a shot at an out.
Another REELS is an oldie of Eric Bristow. He's wearing a shirt from the Crafty Cockney (later renamed The Londoner) that is in my town. I played there a lot. All the Euro darts stars came to the U.S. for the summer tournaments.
