Any thoughts as to the new social media app? Will it be enough to take down the red-pilled Edison of our time?

New social media app? What thing that isn't Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, SnapChat, Truther or something I'm forgetting is supposed to take down Facebook?

And, be quick about it. I'm liable to force you off my lawn at any moment.

This new app is actually a Meta (Facebook) joint and therefore necessarily related to Instagram.

I just got the alert that "Threads" is available, so I downloaded it. It's appearance is just like Twitter. It imported my profile from IG. I have kept IG completely clean of politics, so I don't have much "news" in my feed.

I'll give it a shot. Not that I like Zuck at all. But Elmo has made twitter an unusable sea of maga trolls, bots and racism.

I signed up, which was a very easy process.

So you see posts from anyone they feel like dumping onto your feed, and there's no way to limit your feed to people you actually choose to follow.

There is also apparently no way to make the feed chronological.

My time on Threads will likely be very, very brief.

I assume the thing was rushed out with Twitter quickly sinking and before BlueSky was ready. We'll see if that was a good idea or not.

I'm hoping things get sorted out quickly - making the feed chronological and choosing what you want in your feed. I hate having to trust in Zuckerberg but…

I'm cautiously optimistic after having used it for a few hours. Gary Vee sounds all-in, which doesn't hurt.

Fascinated to see if Threads can eventually replace Twitter as the social media app that breaks the most brains.
