Schefter seems to truly love what he does and the NFL more than is normal. So many of his tweets are just publicizing the league. Woj never did any of that stuff.
It's funny, I was covering a baseball game - high school playoff, back in the day. Game ends on a walk-off HR. Kid on the losing team waits around for awhile after I get some quotes for the story. He wasn't a baseball star - basketball was his sport. We chose him as an athlete of the week earlier that year. He was an interesting kid, talked about Paul Robeson being one of his heroes in the profile I wrote. Anyway - the guy waited around to thank me for the profile, said it got him a basketball scholarship to Columbia. One of the highlights of my time covering high school sports. I still think about that guy.
I love this story!Appreciate the likes and all, so I decided to google the guy. He's now a Family Law attorney in Torrance, CA. Good reputation as far as I could tell and handles divorces and custody issues from both mothers and fathers and estate planning. Let me know if you need someone in that area, I'll give you his name.![]()
Apparently, he's living in an apartment above a bar he used to frequent when he was an SBU undergrad. Short commute to a job he loves, and affordable rent (it's Olean) with easy access to Genny Cream. What a life.
All he's missing is a Wegmans. Tops will have to suffice.
