2024 NHL offseason thread

Earlier this week, the Caps traded Darcy Kuemper to the Kings for Pierre-Luc Dubois. Seems like PLD was an awful fit in L.A. schematically, and Kuemper lost his net to Lindgren in Washington, so it seems on the surface like a WTF why not see what happens? move for both teams.
Elliotte stated last week both of the Hershey goaltenders are considered outstanding prospects.

Their starter, Hunter Shepard, won back to back NCAA titles at Minnesota Duluth (and probably would have been the favorite for a third if not for COVID) and has now won the Calder Cup in back to back seasons in Hershey. Were he not *only* 6'1", he probably would have had an NHL net by now.

Ilya Mikheyev and Sam Lafferty were traded to Chicago by Vancouver Wednesday for a fourth-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft.
The Blackhawks also acquired a second-round pick in the 2027 draft.

Figured Claude Julien had faded off into the sunset.
Instead, he joins Drew Bannister's coaching staff in St. Louis.

So the local hockey team (I've even got a Sharks "sweater" with my number from the 2010 WCF) picks Macklin Celebrini #1 and I see this picture from the Warriors championship:

and I'm thinking "jeez his family had some $$ what obnoxious fan gets to fire up a stogie on the floor" then I realize that's RICK CELEBRINI the Ws head of strength and conditioning. What an idiot I am.
Anyways, after watching Connor McDavid get to the SCF, here's hoping this Celebrini motivates this fair weather fan to break out the old jersey and get to the Shark Tank.

As a BU hockey fan, since both my kids went there, IMO this kid is better than Eichel, who was gosh darn good at BU.

A victory cigar on Red's court, even.

Good Vancouver boy. His dad played soccer for the Canada.
