2024-25 College Basketball Thread

Tennessee basically down to six players, missing two starters (including its best player) . . . beats Florida by 20. Another day in the SEC.

In MBB, Kansas led Baylor 40-21 at the half. Baylor outscores KU in the second half, 60-30, to take an 81-70 win in Waco.

it's a crazy season.

so far today 3, 5, 7 and 11 have lost
K State's 19-point win at No. 3 Iowa State: Only the 2nd time in the 76-year history of the AP poll that an unranked visitor has beaten a top-3 foe by 19 or more.
Other: Villanova 19-point win at No. 1 Syracuse on Jan. 6, 1990.

UNC-Duke looks like Long Beach State-UNLV in '90-91.

Runnin' Rebs beat them twice by a combined 98 points.

Tar Heels are utter garbage.

10 minutes in and Dukies up 19.

Mizzou wins on the road, curb stomping Missip State by 27. When the Tiggers are hitting shots and locking down on defense, they can beat anyone — but they have to play that way to have a chance.

Grill was 6 of 11 on three-pointers, a couple of them from at least 40 feet. After last season, this one has been fun.

FSU led BC by seven with 40 seconds left and did exactly what Kansas did a week ago: threw away an in-bounds pass that was stolen and immediately turned into a 3-pointer. This one gave the Eagles a 77-76 win.

As to Duke-UNC, this is your occasional reminder that the meeting of Tar Heels and Blue Devils is no more likely to produce a close game than any other ACC series. About one of every three is decided by ≤ 5 or in OT. Right in line with the historical league average.
