2014-15 NFL Coaching Carousel Thread

If Coughlin is fired, I think that would be the best job, not because the team is set up to win right away, but it's a franchise that typically has pretty low coaching turnover.

Agree but don't think Coughlin will be fired. Think he gets one more year given that they put in an entire new O system and the injuries.
Of anyone out there there is no one better suited for the job now than Coughlin.

I agree. It seems pretty stupid to try to replace a two-time SB winner with some young assistant

Yup and who you know will never embarrass The Giant organization. He was Wellington Marra's guy and that still counts for a lot.
The Giants are an old school organization and Coughlin is the right man to lead them at this point.

The Niners will also be faced with some retooling, given that they will need to release several players to get under the cap, and certain free agents will not be back, either because the Niners don't want them back or because it will be too difficult to fit their contracts under the cap.

SF certainly isn't rebuilding, but it's going to be a bigger challenge for them to stay in playoff contention next year, especially if whoever takes over as head coach can't get Kaepernick to improve.

That's probably going to be the most interesting one to watch, well, that and what the Niners try to do with Harbaugh (if anything).

I would think the 49ers and Bears would both be looking at Bevell and Hamilton to try to rescue their failing QBs.

It was reported earlier this week that Gruden has been told he'll be back next year.

I'd be surprised if they don't let Crabtree walk. No way is that guy worth a big contract. I would cut Vernon Davis as well. It will be interesting with some of the older guys (Gore) as well.
