And the Zags have been to nine consecutive Sweet 16s.I saw where Gonzaga has more tourney wins than anyone since 2017, which is both not surprising and pretty incredible.

The year before last Auburn got to stay in Birmingham as an 8, so my sympathy for them can't be picked up by a microscope.Another fun selection thing I just realized (I'm slow) is they put 8 seed Louisville in Lexington opposite the No. 1 overall seed. How in the world does that happen?
I used to go on annual trips to first-round sites and went to Lexington in 2013 when Louisville was the No. 1 seed and buzzsawed to the title, whether it was taken away or not. That crowd was insane. In all the NCAA tournament games I've been to, plenty with No. 1 seeds, I have never seen such a one-sided crowd. In the second round the whole arena was rabid Louisville fans other than the one section for the other team.
Since they are an 8 seed it might not be that bad because interest is probably not quite as high as a championship contender, but it is still likely will be a very home crowd for them if they advance. Way to protect the top seed.

That said, Tiger fans have known for weeks they'd be in Lexington and I'm sure have purchased accordingly.
Forgot about that one. It's dumb it has happened a few times recently.
It shouldn't happen to protected seeds at all. Just another example of where the NCAA is really inconsistent with everything in terms of selection and placement.
Sometimes I think a lot of these popular upset picks are more people being burned over the years by Purdue (or Arizona, Missouri, Iowa, etc.) gag jobs in early round games that ruined their bracket.Would have felt better about UCSD had they drawn someone other than Michigan. Don't see Dusty May losing that one. I think McNeese gets run, too. The only mids I really like are Yale, VCU, St. Mary's and Drake. High Point is trendy, but they can't stop anyone and will have to outscore Purdue to win. Don't see it happening.
I have Yale beating AtM.Any team that wears maroon or anything close generally screws me over in bowl pools and brackets. Texas A and M, Boston College especially.
Is it me or does Rodney Terry look a lot like LL Cool J?Rodney Terry can wipe his tears with the severance check when he's back to being a second banana on somebody's bench in the Big XII. His guys couldn't have looked like ship at a worse time than the last four minutes. Hero ball, wouldn't get out to defend the arc, disinterested in rebounding at crucial moments. Oh, and the all-everything lottery pick choked at the line all night.
