Man, not exactly a well-known media outlet with that report. I live in the Twin Cities and I've never heard of that outlet/blog, whatever. Medved makes sense at Minnesota, but they're not announcing that til CSU is bounced from the NCAA Tourney…

Rothstein reporting that Maryland is gonna back up the truck for Willard, making him one of the top-10 highest-paid coaches in the country. I guess there was a little bit of scuttlebutt about Villanova making a run at him, but man, that's a lot of money for a dude who's never gotten a team past the second round of the tournament.

On one hand, he made five NCAAs at Seton Hall, which will soon seem as impressive as driving to the moon, and the 2020 team had a Final Four ceiling. On the other, he's wrung an awful lot out of that what-could-have-been scenario. I wouldn't back the truck up until he won two games next weekend, mostly b/c I think he'd be a terrible fit at Stepford Nova.
