2024-25 College Basketball Thread

As for Willard, he's such a clown that I wouldn't be shocked if the Nova thing falls apart at the finish line, either b/c he got what he wanted shaking down Maryland or b/c Nova realized the error of their ways. This guy has the personality of a dead fish and couldn't get out of the second weekend at Seton Hall in the before times. The stepford husbands and wives of Villanova really think he's gonna be The Guy to bring them back to where Jay Wright led them?

But if Willard stays, what AD is gonna want to come to Maryland knowing its basketball coach basically shivved the former AD?

Maryland is a basketball school that desperately, cravenly wants to become a football school, and it's been that way since it joined the B1G. And on some levels, that might be wise, because in the next round of realignment/consolidation, the football powerhouses are going to dictate which schools get to split the riches, and they're going to want other football programs that attract TV eyeballs. Maryland football is miles from that.

Willard almost certainly realizes he'll be better off at a place like Villanova where basketball is king and always will be.

I first read that as "someone got shot when Nate Oats was in Spokane . . . "

Sounded normal.
Actually, with two women's NCAA regionals in Spokane this year, that's eight teams, cheer squads, pep bands, etc. that need to find hotel rooms there.

As the Utah women's team learned last season, staying in nearby Coeur d'Alene amid its legions of racist Trumpers is not recommended.

Elliot Cadeau entered the transfer portal yesterday.

Won't somebody please think of the poor producers of the Marriott Bonvoy commercials??

Apparently one of the Mississippi State players who was guarding Juju Watkins when she planted and tore her ACL on her own, is getting lots of online love from USC fans.

Do Mormons consider it a sin to guard the perimeter? Bama is barely attempting two pointers, nor should they change the mix right now. Sixteen 3s and counting.
