2024-25 College Basketball Thread

Did anyone notice that both CBS and TNT telecasts of the first games tonight were glitchy? Not a smooth effort from the technical to the crews to the studio.
Way to step up your game, networks.

Alabama was just three 3FG short of tying the NCAA record for any game. Troy made 28 (on a record-setting 74 attempts) vs. George Mason, coached by Paul Westhead, on 11/10/1994.

I'm on YouTube TV so I just thought it was half of Birmingham trying to stream at the same time. Usually notice it more on football Saturdays.

The Round of 16 always seems to be the worst round of the entire tournament. Maybe a coach who pulls a couple upsets has already accepted a new job on the down low, maybe the players get overwhelmed by the attention, but mostly teams just get badly matched playing well above their level

So, at this point of the tournament, the Sweet 16, the officials working the game are "supposed" to be as good as the teams that won two games to get there.
But Bama-BYU, Fla-Md, and Duke-Arizona all had spectacular blunders by these venerated zebras. Sheesh.
