2024-25 College Basketball Thread

I have never seen a shot chart like that. Time to move the three-point line back by five feet. So says this old man shouting at clouds.
At some point in the game I sent a text to a friend, noting Alabama had taken 39 3's and 11 2's. Then I turned off the TV. Completely unwatchable.

Against St. Mary's they only attempted 17 shots from deep because the Gaels were determined to run them off the line. Last night BYU packed the paint determined to stop drives to the basket and refused to come over ball screens to contest the 3.

Maybe Alabama is just really good at offense and it isn't a gimmick. But if you want to watch people play like the mid-90s Knicks, enjoy.

I thought it was a blast to watch last night.
I've got Alabama winning the whole thing.
The days of 64-62 meat grinders are over.

The amount of grumpy ass college basketball fans here kind of amazes me. Sears was out of his mind shooting, and that's a bad thing?

Like I have zero affinity for Alabama the state or the University. I barely knew before last night who Sears was. I thought it was a blast to watch as well.
The team shoots 50% from three point line for the game, and this is an Alabama problem? Looked to me like a BYU problem.

Here's hoping @Chef2

I never disputed that Cooper Flagg was an excellent player but last night was my first time watching Duke for extended minutes this season. He is Him and we ain't got one of those.

Flagg is a great player….and in typical Duke fashion, you wouldn't mind seeing him catch an elbow in the nose.

They made almost 50% of them. What's the difference if they were mid-range jumpers, other than getting another point for the makes?

I sort of get it if they only made 20% of 50 shots, but man, in a way that should be praised as a phenomenal performance. It actually was ridiculous. And if they only made 20% of two-point shots that would be bad basketball too, so it works both ways.
