2024-25 College Basketball Thread

I haven watched them a lot, but how was that Smith the Big Ten player of the year? His assist to turnover ratio has been like 1:1 every time I've seen him.

Purdue's looks like something from the 1950s. I think it's the arc of the letters that's far more extreme than it needs to be.

Purdue and Houston are playing in the Evil Irsay Dome in Indy. I expected a raucous atmosphere in favor of the Boilers. It sounds relatively dispassionate.

Purdue forces one 3FGA after another in search of the tying points. But they get enough rebounds to keep trying. And finally, the most forced and least probable of the bunch -- heavily defended at the expiration of the shot clock -- goes in and it's 60-60.

Purdue was so concerned about the lob to the rim that it failed to account for the guy who was standing about seven feet from the basket when he threw the ball in bounds.

I don't think I have ever seen an in-bounds passer unguarded on the pass thrown so close to the bucket. Amazing oversight by the Boilermakers, who played a tremendous game overall.
