2024 college football offseason thread

UCLA never seems to be terrible - never seems to be in the top tier. The stadium is a big part of it. I also think with both Cal and UCLA you are seeing fewer and fewer students who graduate from the school with deep passion for the school's sports teams. Fewer donor dollars. I think Oregon benefits greatly from not having no pro-teams to compete against for those who didn't go there. All three schools have ramped up the out of state student populations.

ESPN and the College Football Playoff have agreed to a six-year deal worth $1.3 billion annually that allows the network to keep exclusive rights to the 12-team playoff through the 2031 season, two people with knowledge of the agreement told The Associated Press.

The first round will have three CFP games on Saturday, Dec. 21 and the NFL plays a doubleheader on that Saturday, televised by ABC/ESPN. NFL probably gets the network slots with the college games on ESPN.

LSU running back Trey Holly arrested for a multiple shooting in his hometown of Farmerville, Louisiana. No one dead, but two injured. He's charged with attempted second degree murder, among some lesser charges.
Farmerville is in the north central part of the state, just north of Monroe.
