2025-26 College basketball coaching carousel

On one hand, he made five NCAAs at Seton Hall, which will soon seem as impressive as driving to the moon, and the 2020 team had a Final Four ceiling. On the other, he's wrung an awful lot out of that what-could-have-been scenario. I wouldn't back the truck up until he won two games next weekend, mostly b/c I think he'd be a terrible fit at Stepford Nova.

Apropos of absolutely nothing you just wrote, but Kevin Willard strikes me as the most joyless person on Earth.

Even if he had money, what would he spend it on? He strikes me as the real life version of the parody Nick Saban does in that Vrbo ad.

Like, if Kevin Willard bought a car, the only option he'd want is a louder horn so he could amplify his irritation with the world. Or he shows up at a tailor and says, "I need the most severe suit you have in this dump."

I think he may actually be Cameron's dad from "Ferris Bueller's Day Off".

I was watching a youtube of recent March Madness highlights, and saw some Saint Peters. I remember the coach was a hot commodity for a hot second.

I had to google him to see where he went. Shaheen Holloway is currently shipting the bed at Seton Hall.

Get the bag when you're hot.

Looks as if West Virginia's Darian DeVries will take the Indiana job, per the usual suspects. His son, the two-time MVC player of the year under his dad at Drake who was hurt for nearly all of this season at West Virginia, reportedly is going with him.

It's official. As an IU alum and fan I'll reserve judgment, but I don't imagine the lunatic fan base will.

The package deal is interesting. Not unlike Cignetti bringing half of his JMU team to Bloomington.

He's in an impossible spot (a Big East school with CAA funding and facilities) in the gig he's wanted forever. But yeah, I do wonder if in his quiet moments he wishes he'd gone somewhere else. He probably could have had any open job after that run.

Looks as if Will Wade to NC State is just about a done deal, even if he still has at least one game left at McNeese.
A perfect match. I'd predict that Wade would become the fifth coach in NC State history to put the team under sanctions for what the NCAA deems "major infractions," but nothing's improper anymore. I still maintain you don't want somebody who's that blatantly dishonest as a major public face of your institution.
