All-purpose college basketball thread

Noles win by 1 and Billy Packer asks if it's possible that Clemson could still get in because of how they lost this game. At least he admitted it wasn't likely.

No. Freaking. Chance.

Oregon is looking good early. The announcers on FSN started the broadcast saying Arizona could get a No. 3 seed if they win the Pac-10 tournament, isn't that a little high for the Wildcats?

And here comes Maryland. Not that Miami has any reasonable chance of taking the ACC's automatic bid, but I'd feel better about life if the Canes were one-and-done.

For chrissakes, Clemson finished the season 4-10. No way the committee can overlook that. No way.

The Notre Dame basketball team is better than its football team this year.

Who'd have thought it.

Clemson needed to beat FSU by a decent margin and beat UNC to get on the bubble. MAYBE if they lost to UNC on a 40-foot heave in the fifth OT. Otherwise, say hello to College of Charleston in the NIT.

And Arizona sure as heck isn't winning the Pac-10 tournament. Oregon is just rolling the Wildcats right now.

Clemson with a chance for the final shot in a tie game with Florida State ... backcourt violation with 8.3 seconds to play. Both teams are trying to give this away and can't seem to do it.

EDIT -- Norman, last year Missouri State's RPI ranked 21st in the nation. Ask them if a high RPI necessarily means it's a lock.

Big East vs. MVC. Nova's in.

Probably, but not because of conference ties. Because it played the second-toughest Big East schedule, so you have to look at that conference mark accordingly.

But they shouldn't feel too comfortable.

Re: Maryland, that's what they are. They've shown they can lose to anyone at anytime.

Damn, UCLA is good when it turns on its defense. Nothing like a 20-4 run to open the second half, erasing Cal's 12-point halftime advantage.
