Best Stevie Wonder song?

Go buy everything he's ever done.
Or start with Songs in the Key of Life and go from there.

There was a double album called "The Millenium Collection", I think, that came out a few years back that was quite good

Can anyone recommend the best Stevie Wonder compilation? This thread has reminded me that his absence in my CD collection is pure fail.

"At The Close of a Century"

It's a four-CD set. Why the label waited THAT long for a Stevie compilation is a mystery ... many lesser so-called "talents" had stuff out before this set. Terrific sound and quite a complete wrapup of his catalog.

If you wish to go by album, get "Songs In the Key of Life," "Talking Book" ... shoot, most of his '70s discography.

"At the Close of a Century" is one of the best muscial investments I've ever made.

For me, it's "You Haven't Done Nothin'" and "Misstra Know It All."

guy's over-rated

just never thought he was a great songwriter

lot of great vocals and atmosphere and arrangements but the melodies aren't there to call the guy a first-rate songwriter

Blue font?

You are entitled to your opinion, but melody is not really a judgment call ... it is there or it is not. Look at his catalog and you'll find some of the most undeniably melodic songs of all time. "Sir Duke?" "Sunshine of My Life?" "My Cherie Amour?" "Signed, Sealed, and Delivered?" These are classic melodies that have been used over and over again in covers and movies and commercials. Nobody has to love Stevie, but to say his melodies aren't there is just kind of silly.

not a god damned one.

You like beef over pork barbecue, mention Jack after someone posts "Bourbon" and now this?

Tomas, why do you hate America?

nobody said i preferred beef instead of pork, dammit.

Too many posts about smoking brisket. I know your kind.

show me a man who doesn't love brisket and i'll show you a man who has no balls.

Besides-forking-which, nobody asked where he ranked among songwriters or how he compared to Lennon-McCartney or Jagger-Richard or Barry-Manilow, they just asked for opinions on his best song.

With a 45-year body of work, it's doubtful they all blow.

naw. all of them really do blow.

I could vote for some songs already mentioned, but I'll go with Boogie On Reggae Woman since it hasn't been.
