"College Football Is On EBay" is NIL a bad thing?

Waiting for the #30for30 about a quarterback who starts at USC with $10M as a freshman.

NIL's to Texas for $20M his sophomore year.

NIL's to Ohio State for $40M his junior year.

NIL's to Alabama for $100M his senior year.

Because it will happen.

The late John Matuszak would have had considerable problems with those of you calling football a business.

I don't understand why its worthy of your one millionth fake 30 for 30 episode. College football is the second biggest sport in this country. There is no 30 for 30 if an MLB or NFL or NBA player signs a series of one year contracts. We call it 'betting on yourself', and it is applauded.

That's a silly tack you took.

College football is the second biggest sport in this country.

And? Yeah, I know, I get it.

We call it 'betting on yourself', and it is applauded.

Yeah, I know, and I don't have a problem with it either.

Your precious hugging of NIL reminds me of someone who overly hugged Obama no matter what anyone said even if congratulatory.

Chill.

Nobody says this for any other line of work.

"Kid chasing more money with his lemonade stand? I'm not crazy about it."
"Kid chasing more money by moving across state for a better job opportunity? I'm not crazy about it."
I get that.

But then NILs will start entering the adult world of not allowing the person to work for a competing business for 1, 2, 5 years after the contract is broken.

Why hasn't that happened in the pros?

If a player signs a two-year contract and then walks after the first year to tease the market again, I think that means the player sits out a season.

Maybe they will start writing these NILs like pro contracts?

Every four- or five-star recruit will insist on annual opt-out provisions.
