College football week 14 thread: ATLiens

There is not only a Pop Tarts Bowl, but after the trophy presentation the winning team gets to break off pieces of the bowl mascot and eat them. I shirt you not. Beats a mayonnaise bath I suppose.
Do you ever bother to catch up on threads before posting in them? Recent evidence suggests not.

Would actually be worth it if it were Frosted Brown Sugar Cinnamon. Strawberry is so forking basic.

Fun fact. The control box circled in this picture is the flight management system Black Hawk pilots use to control radios, flight plans, etc. It doubles as the world's greatest Pop Tart holder. Fits like it was made for it.

The 0-0 tie between Oregon State and Oregon in 1983 - the final 0-0 tie in FBS history - is one of the most-celebrated games in the 100+-year history of the Civil War. It even has its own name - The Toilet Bowl.

Would have joined them had overtime not been in place...

Jeff Goodman's list of basketball scholarship recipients transferring from Division I schools after last season has about 1,500 names. Of them, one-third didn't find a new Division I home.

It's so much cooler to say you are entering the transfer portal than admitting that your scholarship wasn't renewed.

CFP:
1. Georgia.
2. Michigan.
3. Washington.
4. Florida State

If we had a 12-team playoff:

12. Tulane at 5. Oregon
11. Mississippi at 6. Ohio State
10. Penn State at 7. Texas
9. Missouri at 8. Alabama

Chick-fil-A: Missouri-Alabama vs. 1. Georgia
Cotton: Penn State-Texas vs. 2. Michigan
Fiesta: Mississippi-Ohio State vs. 3. Washington
Orange: Tulane-Oregon vs. 4.. Florida State

Semis:
Granddaddy: Cotton vs. Fiesta
Sugar: Chick-fil-A vs. Orange

Exactly what has Oregon accomplished to deserve most favored nation status among one-loss teams? Fine, rank them ahead of Bama, but they don't stack up to Texas or Ohio State.

Im assuming its that they lost by three points on the road to the No. 3 team and were driving to either force OT or win at the end of the game and:

Bama lost at home
Texas has the worst loss
Ohio State lost on the road by a slightly wider margin

Wait until UW loses to Oregon in the Pac-12 Championship … then you'll really hear the Husky fans barking about how good the Ducks are (although it will make them turn green).

Contrary to what some are saying out here, there is no way the Dawgs are getting into the CFP if they lose Friday. Woof!!

I'm in and out of the board all the time. I try not to d_b tweets and I do look back, and I still get burned from time to time. This time I simply responded to

There's a Pop Tarts Bowl? Oh, my.

thinking that if it had just been discussed that would not have been posted. I didn't see any particular reason to look back a page before responding.

These rankings guarantee the Pac-12 champion is in, which is a good thing because it feels like the Pac-12 has been the best conference top-to-bottom this year.

Asked by an ESPN host if the committee might exclude the SEC altogether, Finebaum said, "Over my dead body."
An interesting choice of words. Fascinating how SEC people take football personally.
But he's right when he says that dropping Georgia from first to fifth because of one neutral-site loss to Alabama would be absurd.
