No, the Russians are not down with the gays.
They make no bones about it and don't apologize for it.
He projects an image to be respected, does it intentionally and successfully.
We need an alpha male in the executive office.
A world leader should be powerful and have a element of gravitas.
Not play golf, throw a baseball like a girl, wear Mom jeans and give speeches.

Respected? Or feared?

And we had an alpha male in the White House before the current president. How'd that work out for us?

Much better than the current president. And the majority of people above a sixth-grade education are beginning to see that.

No, they really aren't. The current president's flaws are certainly shining through, but even he can't make President Bush: The Sequel look good.

Like I said: "Above a sixth-grade education."

Like I said: "Above a sixth-grade education."

Master's degree = sixth-grade education?

Only in tony's world.

I know ignorance often is not the person's fault, but you seem to treasure yours. Why is that?

A smart liberal like LTL might raise the notion that rich white businesses made racism worse, that it wasn't an attempt at equality as much as it was corporate exploitation and greed. Shot plumb over his head.

A smart conservative like you would realize that your argument is about as bright as suggesting that the Iron Curtain in Eastern Europe should have stayed up because several of those nations -- including Russia itself -- disintegrated into corruption and war after the Soviet Union dissolved.

Of course there was going to be new problems when blacks weren't treated like shirt and quarantined from whites. That's because human nature is unusually good at making sure there's problems no matter the solution.
A smart social conservative like me does realize that while there is still an existing level of principle on matters other than profit, good business is where you can find it and that was a significant motivation for the "open doors" of desegregation....which if it didn't benefit the white corporate, might have moved slower than 1964. Democrats try to pretend urban blight and ghettos don't exist unless there's a campaign to run and votes to be had. heck, it was cheap labor in the Civil War that was at the core of the business argument for the South to retain slavery. If some people can't see dollar signs, they can't see liberty.

Ah. Take care. Good luck with your worldview.
Not my worldview dipshirt. The way the world truly is.
I bet you didn't know some bankers profited from backing both the Allies and the Axis in WWII.

Damn you Fart, for putting this propaganda on here.
Obama is King. And our Savior.
Pretty soon we'll be hanging banners with his face on them.

You know who has a healthy disrespect for freedom of speech?

Putin.

I'm just not sure your police work is panning out.

What an honor, Spinoza - you deigning to contradict me.
I merely said I admired the way Putin comports himself.
I think many of Mr. Obama's objectors simply don't respect him as a masculine leader.
