Even the biggest Obama water carrier on here doesn't, in my eyes, really have his/heart in it anymore. Now they are more concerned in not being wrong all along than really paying attention and accepting that they put all their faith in a dismal failure.

I'm sure there are some who feel that way. Then you have the Republicans who are still desperately trying to justify their faith in George. W. Bush.

You admire the comedy of the noted anti-religious bigot Bill Maher.
So shove it up your rear end, small man.

Learn to read, fart boy. What I said was tony was slamming Maher because he can't stand anybody who is happy to rip both parties.

Though I am an admirer or George Carlin, who was every bit as anti-religion as Maher. That doesn't mean I agree with everything he said. heck, Carlin even offended me sometimes. But he was brilliant and funny as heck.

Of course, anybody with any sense understands that we should hold a world leader to a different standard than a comedian. Not that anybody ever accused you of having any sense.

Carlin was a genius at social punditry.
And Maher couldn't carry his jock.

But, anyway, since I posted the Maher thing:

Comedy is not the point of the Maher clip.

The point is the losing party in an election sacking up and playing ball.

I am very curious to see what the post-presidency Obama will be like.
We all know about his fetish for giving speeches, and how horny that makes his water carriers.
Look for him to make a fortune doing that, and write a few bland books.
But what else? He won't have even the respect equity Carter has built.
And somehow, we'll be seen as racist if he's not immediately placed on Mount Rushmore.

Oh, I agree that Maher is nowhere near Carlin's level. I was just being honest, hoping that perhaps someday fart boy, dedw and tony will learn from my example.

fart boy accused me of being an admirer a comic who was anti-religion. I was correcting him, but sticking to the truth. It is certainly fair to say Carlin was anti-religion and I've never made any secret of my admiration for him.

Fart boy just doesn't seem to understand the difference between the role of a comedian and a the role of a world leader, which would explain a lot.

Case in point about the dishonesty of some of the regular posters on this thread.

Oop, it's cool, I don't think much of your critical thinking skills, either.
But I find you less loathesome than many of my trolls and agitators.
So I'll do the dance with you. Just keep time and pick up the pace.
Maher is a hater, simply. It goes beyond his being unfunny.
He's a bigot and a mysogynist and intellectually incurious.
He does atheism or liberalism no favors - not even Chris Hitchins Lite.
Just a dim bulb all the way around.
Dimmer even than you.

Maher hates on Liberals plenty, too. Just not as much as Conservatives, mostly because he is so strongly anti-religion.

But that's not the point. You compared my admiration for a certain comedian to your admiration of a world leader, as if those are the same type of person and should be held to similar standards. It's a lousy comparison, not that I expect better from you.

You little pipsqueak.
I've got to stop dealing with mental defectives on this site.
You're not even fun to debate.

Not many...I don't see a ton of people arguing the merits of George Bush's eight-year mess...nowhere near as many who still defend everything Obama does come heck or high water.

I see plenty of them, including some on this very thread, but you would figure there would be more people defending the current president.

A citizenry that sits back and permits this kind of tyranny deserves everything that happens to it.

Let's look at the checklist here.
The IRS sends refund checks:

<> totaling $46 million
<> at the same address in Atlanta

Awesome job. Yes We Can.
