Good Deeds....

You married her, right?!

Nah, she gave me the boot a few months later. I was 22, she was 20, and we'd been dating since she was 17. It hurt me, but she was ready to move on, and I can't blame her.

As many concerts as I had seen at the Fox, more than twenty, we sat in a section I didn't even know existed. At the very back of the balcony, there are two rows along the back wall that are elevated about eight feet above the balcony seats. We sat in the next to last row, but the sight line was better than all but the first few rows of the balcony and the sound was perfect. As I said, it seats 3,700, and there really isn't a bad seat in the place. It's a gorgeous Depression era movie palace, amazingly opulent tile, plaster, and paint work in the interior. It was the second stop on the "Some Girls" tour, and the band was fresh and excited to be there. Patti Smith was the opener. It was a damn good show. We also caught them in the Superdome a few weeks later.
