Based on the monthly jobs report, this report in the New York Times, along with others elsewhere, I'm sure, claims recession is inevitable. It says "If history is a reliable guide, the recession of 2008 is now unavoidable."

A lot of people, myself included, would argue we're already in one.
So a simple question would be, how do we get out of it?

How has the country climbed out of other recessions within the last 20 to 30 years? Can it be done in a similar way this time?
If history shows when a recession is coming can't it help those in charge pull out of one?

Funny, I was just hearing Jerry Doyle say there is no recession. It's just something the media made up to make sure Obama or Clinton got elected.

So if we pretend it doesn't exist, it'll work itself out naturally.
Brilliant! This Doyle guy is a smart one. heh.

Well, we can look at the worst recession in history.

We got out of that one when the government created jobs. That employed people and gave them money, which they spent.

Recession? Pfffft.

I thought so.

So you're using the same logic as coaches/players who say we can't criticize them because we don't play/coach.
That's intelligent.
I guess I won't complain about the food in a restaurant because I'm not a chef; or about a bad movie because I'm not a director.

As bogus as that argument is, you're also assuming none of us indeed do have an economics degree. I'd be willing to bet there's more than a few posters who claim to have at least something similar.

I love how dim-witted Republicans can think that.

As Oz said: I wish the Democrats would yell about lower gas prices too.

I actually bought a lottery ticket the other day, filling up on gas. I looked the window at the convenience store and saw a Powerball sign that read "$173 million." My first thought wasn't about the luxuries I might buy with that, buying a house or paying off debt. It was how much that would help with paying for gas.
