Actually, I was hoping someone would be willing to do a "thread reset" and summarize what's gone on through 12 pages to this point. I'm behind in my Christmas cards and don't have time to wade through it all, yet I'd like to know where we're at here. I suppose I'd better at least go read the magazine piece in question, but it would help to know the main talking points here. Generally I stay away from "atta boy" and "we're not worthy" threads because we're all just swinging d---s here trying to make a living, after all. But the sheer length of this thread finally drew me in.

ESPN has become such a multi-headed Gargantua that you can no longer say, "ESPN = Bad" or "ESPN = Good." Everything they do is now strictly case-by-case.

And it should be pointed out that ESPN is one of the few entities that is still paying sportswriters (well) to sportswrite. I think ESPN should be applauded for hiring Jones to do a piece and let him 'go nuts' with it in his unique voice.
