Masters Running Thread

On another note ... something that's bugging me about the telecast.

They're really going heavy on the past-year replays today. You lift your head up, see a ball rolling in from 50 feet away, and you think it's live. And it never is.

Perhaps a little "REPLAY" graphic presence might be called for.

I can work with this. When they're having to fill 56 minutes of every hour, I think a lot of spaces where 30-second spots would be is being filled up with highlights and flashbacks, moreso than the normal golf broadcast.

Chef, I'm not sure I think that little of Trevor Immelman. To be fair, I would have pictured Ernie or Goose winning a green jacket first. But Ernie hasn't had the game since the knee injury caused by the skiing accident. As for Goose, I'm still surprised. Man has the perfect temperment for Augusta - and when he gets in contention, the columnists looking for something larger than life will be there to hammer him for his personality. A shame really ...

On another subject, I love this ... someone trying to troll for fights on a freaking golf thread. Change the channel, go to sleep, socialize with family ... a lot of better things to do than pick meaningless and obtuse battles - on a golf thread, no less.

Forgetting all the Tiger talk, that was a prime performance from Immelman, his gaffe on 16 nonwithstanding. He did what he had to do, and the guy's got incredible ball striking ability.

Snedeker broke down crying in the news conference. Wow. All of emotion just caught up with him.

That doesn't happen every week.

Only one person said I was trolling for fights. You didn't have to agree with the ashessment.

Agreed, I don't think he was talking about you shottie. More about the person who would probably start an Anything Goes thread asking why his son likes watching golf when it's not a man-on-man sport.

My two cents on the flamefest: Based on some of the pick 'em scores I've seen, some of you ought to stick to putt-putt. :D

Hey, Miguel Angel Jiminez went low today, darn it!

I unfortunately tried to be different for the sake of being different, and my picks bombed. :)

Trevor Immelman's stats for the week:

• Driving distance: 292.7 yards. (Rank: 3)
• Driving accuracy: 86.5 percent. (Rank: 1)
• Greens in regulation: 73.13 percent. (Rank: 1)
• Total putts: 1.55 per hole. (Rank: 4)

Yeah, I'd say the right man won.
